James McGruder Interviews Austin At Throwback Event
James McGruder has been supporting Austin since he first started posting music on Myspace a few years back (2007). A few months ago in 2012, he was given the opportunity to see Austin perform live at the Salt-N-Pepa Throwback Concert event, which James hosted. Check out James’ story below.
James’ Memories of Seeing Austin Brown Live
"My name is James McGruder and I first met Austin at the Salt-N-Pepa throwback concert, in which he was an opening act. I was the host for the concert event and also interviewed himfor HipHopRealestate.com.
I have to say, I already knew about Austin and his music since the Myspace era, so I was excited to see him live on stage, and the crowed loved him! Before his show, I got a chance to talk to him about his music and just general stuff that happens in life. He is very cool person to talk to and was very open to talk about anything. (I even told him about the crush I had on his aunt and he laughed, so I know he was cool! Hahaha).
I look forward to working with him and his crew again and am really digging his new mix tape, Highway 85. I can hear the growth in his music and he is definitely on his way up to the top.”

Esther Meets Austin Under The Eiffel Tower
While visiting Paris in October 2011, Austin arranged time to meet up with some of his fans under the Eiffel Tower. Among the group of fans was Esther (@EstherJaxn).
Esther Recalls Meeting Austin Under The Eiffel Tower
"When I was in front of the hotel with Chris from MJ Backstage, it had just started to rain and Austin said, ‘Oh no, rain! I hope fans will bring their umbrellas, or it wont be fun under the Eiffel Tower.’ I said to him, ‘Oh don’t worry, we’re use to it! I’ve been living in London for a year, so I’m definitely use to the rain.’ Austin said, ‘Oh yeah the weather there is terrible, its always gray!’ (Austin said when he arrived in Paris, it was warm and then it became cold).
Austin was looking for a place to eat as well while we were there and I said to him, ‘French food is the best, isn’t it?,’ and he agreed.
While together, I gave him my presents. There was a package with presents for his sister as well and I told him its French poetry books. I told him that one day, his sister Yashi and I talked about French poetry on Twitter, and more specifically about Les Fables de la Fontaine, and she told me she had heard about it but never read any of them. While handing him her gift, I said, ‘So here’s some books for her, for her birthday!’ He said, ‘Wow, she’s gonna love that, definitely!’
When I gave him the photographs I had printed to have signed, he said, ‘Oh no, I look weird in that one. I should have worn a shirt!’ I said, ‘No, you look perfect.’ When I asked him when the photo was taken, he said 2009!
Thank you, Austin for meeting us fans in Paris! This was an amazing time.”

Eddie Aguglia Reviews Austin Brown’s Las Vegas Debut
Eddie Aguglia (@PhaastEddie) has an abundance of memories with Austin Brown and an amazing friendship. Check out Eddie’s memory below of the first time he saw Austin perform live in while in Las Vegas, October 2011.
Eddie’s Austin Brown Show Review - Las Vegas Oct. 27-30, 2011
"As I walked through The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas for Halloween weekend, I was taken back by all of the people dressed up in crazy costumes - even though it was four days before Halloween. (Vegas does Halloween better than any city I can recall). It was the perfect setting for Austin Brown (@AustinBrown
on twitter), to debut his original music, and give us a taste of what’s to come from this superstar and his incredible band. The band featured a DJ (@DJbad_
on twitter) who just ripped the turntables up until they were smoking hot, plus incredible talent on the drums, keyboards (@TommyParker80s
on twitter), guitar, bass, and even a cat that let loose with a flute solo! These guys were solid as a rock and totally ripped up the stage.
It was all brought together with Austin at the helm popping and locking, jumping and dancing around with an energy on stage I have never seen duplicated. It was amazing. The crowd and especially the ladies were losing their minds. Screaming and yelling, just having a fantastic time. Since Halloween was in the air, I took the time to appreciate all the fans in the crowd and their costumes. I saw a storm trooper, a football player, Stewie from “Family Guy” and a pimp all dancing around and enjoying the show, LOL…. It was the most fun and energetic show I have been to in years. Trust me, that is saying alot. I love and live music, and have seen my fair share of incredible talented people perform, and these guys just ripped the stage up.
Austin also played the guitar, the keyboards and even did a kick ass beat box while the band just went off! Austin hit high and low notes that were just arranged perfectly. AUSTIN BROWN is a superstar and the band is one of the best I have ever seen. Bottom line: these guys were great!
Thank you Austin and gang for your incredible energy & positive outlook for the future. Much love from this fan/friend indeed!!!!!!”

Sarah Foley Meets Austin in Vegas
October 2011, Sarah Foley, a fan from the UK, was visiting Las Vegas for a wedding and was also able to catch one of Austin’s opening shows.
"I was in Vegas from England for a wedding and was originally meant to be staying there from Monday 24th October - Friday 28th October. The holiday had been booked for over a year and the wedding was that Thursday night. When I found out Austin was going to be playing while I was in town I knew I had to see him so I paid for an extra night at the hotel and changed all my flights so I could go and see him on the Friday evening at his 10 p.m., gig. It turned out to be worth every penny!
The show was free for and the location was awesome! It was so intimate and I was right up close, I felt like it was almost a private show :)
During the up tempo songs, Austin’s energy on stage was incredible. Even though he was dancing around. his voice was perfect and he hit every note. The down tempo songs were beautiful and when he hit the high notes, it reminded me so much of his late, great uncle Michael. It was a pleasure and an honour to hear and see him perform.
After the show, I met the band (who are also all very talented and such nice guys), and they were kind enough to introduce me to Austin, who had a chat with me and posed for a picture. He was so lovely and very sweet.
I seriously can’t wait for him to come over to the UK so I can watch him perform again, it was one of the best nights of my life :)”

Corey’s Memory with Austin at the W. Hotel
(Left to right: Corey, Austin Brown, Chris Tucker and Robert)
January 2012, Corey and his friend Robert saw Austin Brown perform live in West Hollywood.
"I had an amazing opportunity to attend a show of Austin’s at the W. Hotel in West Hollywood. He put on an incredible show with a set list that included "All I Need." From his amazing dance steps to his band, it was just an awesome music experience.
Mr. Chris Tucker was also in the audience and thankfully, I was able to “capture the moment” of myself and Robert with Austin and Chris before the show. Austin is an amazing artist and we look forward to new and exciting projects from him!”
Words on Austin’s Mixtape Highway 85:
"I’m so impressed with his mixtape and I love "All I Need," "F’d with my Mind" and "Groove 92. I love it!"
